Data & Networking

Technology advances are accelerating the integration of the communications and IT worlds into a cohesive, inseparable business catalyst. With so many options, the method by which busy executives strategize, source, implement, and maintain their carrier services is more important than ever before.

The GreenStar Solutions team recognizes the value and power of choice. Our decades of collective experience allow us to gather the information, analyze the carriers and make the appropriate recommendations for each unique client situation… often at prices below those listed by the carriers.

Wide Area Network or WAN Services

Organizations operating in multiple geographic locations require employees, clients, and vendors to function efficiently in a single reliable network. Wide area networks (WANs) empower remote stakeholders to communicate and collaborate securely under one network, as if located within the same four walls.

The introduction of cheap bandwidth has significantly changed WAN technology. SD-WAN, MPLS, SDN, Broadband, FTTC, xDSL, fiber, copper EFM, 3G or 4G, and point-to-point: All serve a specific purpose for organizations today, and each has strengths and weaknesses based upon an organization’s geographic and IT infrastructure.

Software-Defined Networking

An emerging architecture that is dynamic, manageable, cost-effective, and adaptable.

MPLS

Multi-Protocol Label Switching: Flexible, Intelligent, Secure, and Cost-Effective

Ethernet

Simple, affordable, scalable, and reliable bandwidth solutions for private networks.

SD-WAN

The software-defined wide-area network is a specific application of software-defined networking (SDN) technology applied to WAN connections.

VPN

A virtual private network connection is the extension of a private network that includes links across shared or public networks, such as the Internet.

SD WAN Explained

Internet

Maintaining a robust and reliable Internet connection is crucial for your business productivity and collaboration. There are many factors that should be considered before adding or replacing an internet connection. Our Solution Consultants will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method as well other considerations such as redundancy and DDoS protection.

Cable (Coax)

Coaxial cable is used as a transmission line for radio frequency signals. Its applications include feedlines connecting radio transmitters and receivers with their antennas, Internet connections, digital audio (S/PDIF), and distributing cable television signals.

Fiber

Fiber-optic Internet eliminates many of the latency issues users experience on cable Internet, particularly when downloading or uploading video or high-definition content.

Ethernet over Copper (EoC)

A form of Ethernet in the first mile connection that uses twisted pair copper telephone wire. It uses the same 8P8C modular connector used by conventional Ethernet over twisted pair.

4G

4G means the fourth generation of data technology for cellular networks ̶ following 3G, the third generation. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and is short for a very technical process for high-speed data for phones and other mobile devices.

Satellite

Satellite internet is a wireless connection that involves 3 satellite dishes; one at the internet service providers hub, one in space and one attached to your property. In addition to the satellite dish you also need a modem and cables running to and from the dish to your modem.
